Senator Chris Murphy said his annual "Walk Across Connecticut" is his "favorite week of the year" to be in his home state.

Well, it's more like three and a half days, since he started on May 28th in Salisbury around 10am, and finished on May 31st in Norwalk around 11am.

It's a 73-mile walk according to Google Maps and Murphy's staffer who explained the logistics of the annual event while eagerly awaiting his arrival at Norwalk Town Green.

The staffer said Murphy left his West Hartford home each day at around 6am to get driven to the day's starting point for the "walk" and then he would walk until about 8pm, at which point a driver would pick him up and take him back home for the evening to rest.

The staffer promised that Murphy starts off the next day in the same spot where he leaves off the previous evening, but is anyone really checking?

Along the way he had a "surprise visit" from his mentor, an "unscheduled" visit with children in Sharon, a Town Hall in New Milford and lunch with Congresswoman Jahana Hayes, all before he "bumped" into a woman sprucing up a monument on his way to the "End of Walk Celebration" in Norwalk.

The Celebration invite didn't go out to everyone on Murphy's mailing list, but it did get special billing in the local Indivisible groups to ensure a friendly crowd.

Murphy spoke for about 10 minutes and assured people that "what they were doing" was working and that democrats "were starting to break through" with some republicans.

Coincidentally, he ran into people on his walk who shared his "enormous sense of anger" about what President Trump is doing to make America great again—people who wake up every day "worried and wondering" about what they can do to protect "their democracy."

Murphy spread fear amongst his audience, telling them that they can't take for "granted" whether we will even "have an election in three and a half years" but assured them that "states like Connecticut" are taking the right steps to protect "vulnerable populations" like, for instance, illegal aliens, from a "would be dictator" like Trump.

Murphy took some questions from the very friendly audience, like one from a person wondering how hard they needed to fight to protect democracy.

Murphy said, "you kinda have to put all your chips on the table right now, and you have to use more risk-tolerant tactics right now."

What exactly do you think he means by "risk-tolerant tactics" anyway?

One woman was brought to tears wondering what can we do to "wake them up" -- meaning Trump supporters.

Murphy leaned into that and falsely claimed that Trump characterizes America as a "mean, spiteful nation" and encourages people to "hate" those who are different, like immigrants.

Another woman was concerned about local officials who might feel emboldened by Trump, and what to do to stop them.

"We have been putting out fires all around Connecticut, mostly at Boards of Education, in which a lot of this MAGA mythology around the threat to our kids from some imaginary CRT class or drag shows at schools is being mainstreamed in Connecticut," said Murphy, gaslighting the audience since these things really are happening in Connecticut.

Then Murphy promised that he would be "standing up" for municipal races in the fall through his "Fight Back Connecticut" organization to make sure that we have "common sense people" installed into local positions instead of letting this "extremism" like from Trump supporters "seep" into town boards and councils.

We didn't get called on during the Q&A, but still had a burning question to ask Murphy ever since his Stamford Town Hall, so we waited in line after the event ended for our chance.

We asked why Murphy cares more about illegals than legal citizens of the state, and why democrats come to the defense of criminal illegals... like those teachers and his Indivisible buddies who are going to be protesting to bring alleged gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia and all of the criminal illegals who got sent to CECOT back to the U.S.

He said, "I think people here without documentation deserve to be treated with justice, and that means giving them a chance to apply for citizenship," before pivoting to argue that "migrants commit less crime" than citizens.

If you point out that migrants who break federal immigration law are committing a crime, then according to Murphy, you are apparently spreading a "dangerous racist mythology" that we have something to fear from "people who speak a different language or are of a different ethnicity" -- and he says that fear is "rooted in a really dark place."

The point was about how Laken Riley's murder should have never happened, which Murphy declined to address.

But he did add some more gaslighting, saying, "we should stand up for people's safety all across the country," except apparently not for the safety of people like Laken Riley.
