In September 2022, the Tow Foundation announced it had awarded a $132,000 grant to Connecticut Children's Hospital to develop a secure web portal to offer counseling services and resources to transgender and gender non-conforming youth and their families.

That portal has now launched nationwide.

According to Connecticut Children's, the portal will initially serve transgender and gender non-conforming youth from ages 8 to 24, along with their families.

Melissa Santos, PhD, Connecticut Children’s Division Head of Pediatric Psychology and a co-principal investigator on the project said that families are looking to move to Connecticut to receive gender-affirming care after such care has been outlawed in 22 states due to irreversible harm.

The new portal is targeted to families of children in the Gender Program at Connecticut Children’s and it's described as being where children "can receive the care they need before and after puberty, such as puberty blockers, gender-affirming surgery and hormone treatments."

"Because we recognize that there are families that are having questions about, 'What does that even mean for me to move and uproot my entire life so that my child can continue to access the care that they need?', we want to make sure that that portal has information for families about the things you should be looking out for," Santos said.

“We know that LGBTQIA youth are at higher risk for suicide and often report feeling unsupported. This web portal will ensure LGBTQIA youth are able to access counseling services and resources in a safe and secure way,” said Santos.

"Not every child goes on hormones, not every child receives that level of care," Santos said. "The conversation oftentimes is a safe space to be held for kids as they really think about their next path and really doing that alongside the families. I think, our hospital and our work and our providers have always stayed true to that we want to help support children."

Other doctors, like Dr. Miriam Grossman, author of ‘Lost in Trans Nation: A Child Psychiatrist’s Guide Out of the Madness’, believe that no child is born in the wrong body and that gender affirming care can be more accurately described as "dangerous and experimental treatments on children and the betrayal of parents."

“You know, I’m a doctor, but you don’t have to be a doctor to know that there are only two sexes, male and female. We are mammals. Mammals are dimorphic species. That means male and female,” said Dr. Grossman, who has testified before Congress about the importance of protecting children from radical gender affirming care.

Dr. Grossman says that gender dysphoria used to be considered a psychiatric disorder and such issues were “very, very rare”... but now "there is now an epidemic of children anxious to pursue these life altering treatments."

That's why she has been sounding the alarm on the "transgender assembly line."

    Sickening!
Lets recruit LGBTQ families, then mandate EV’s(with no way to power them), and get everyone hooked on legalized marijuana, then we truly live in Mr. Roger’s, “Land of Makebelieve”! CT citizens can then be controlled by the Govt. - total happiness.

I have no idea why the writer included the last few paragraphs of the story. It’s about the services and nationwide portal. Editors do better. Dr. Grossman’s opinions are not evidence based healthcare and go against recommendations by Am Med Assoc, Acad of Pediatrics, Am College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Am Urological Assoc, Am Soc for Reprod Med, Am College of Physicians, Am Assoc of Clinical Endocrinology. Where was this information? Where was that in your article? Editor, do better.
