Yale University President Peter Salovey issued a statement regarding the protesters at Beinecke Plaza indicating that some of the protestors "were not members of the Yale community" and were considered to be trespassing on campus property.

The protesters said they were "disgusted" by President Salovey's comments, and said that Yale Administration "could no longer ignore their own complicity in genocide and scholasticide in Gaza."

The protestors further accused Yale Administration of "prejudice" toward "New Haven and Connecticut community members" who had joined the protest despite the fact that these folks were trespassing on University property.

Additionally, Dean Lewis was accused of spewing "racist and classist lies" by the protestors who clearly feel a growing sense of pride over the perceived "success" of the protest.

To capitalize on that "success", the organizers of Occupy Beinecke are "passing the baton to a broader coalition" of activists from Yale, New Haven and Connecticut. Going forward, the group will be known as "Occupy Yale" and can be found on Instagram @OccupyYale.
