A couple dozen concerned citizens gathered in front of the Ferguson Library in Stamford to peacefully protest the Drag Queen Story Hour event that had been planned for Pride month.

Drag Queens Tiki Malone, Destiny Harmony Whoreowitz, and Frankie Cyanide were scheduled to read inside the library to children of all ages, from birth up, with an accompanying adult.

The Children's Room on the first floor of the library featured a Pride display with many controversial books on gender ideology, along with the progressive pride flag.

Outside the library peaceful protesters were holding signs with messages like "Keep Kids Safe" and "Protect Our Children". Many cars passing by the library honked in support of a person holding the "Honk for Purity" sign.

At one point, the group started to repeat the Catholic prayer, "Hail Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death" in unison, which triggered a passerby into shouting, "f*ck you" multiple times before striking at the face of one of the peaceful protestors.

A person holding a rainbow umbrella who appeared to be tied to the Pride event raced over to the angry woman, explaining "that is not helpful for us."

    She's right.

These protestors were just exercising their right to free speech, after all.
