The Help America Vote Act, HAVA passed into law after the hanging chad debacle of the 2000 election. The country was on edge as the two contenders fought it out in court. In the end Al Gore conceded. Just a few months later it was 09/11/01. Problem, reaction, solution. A little more than two decades later our voting system is not better, it’s worse. In fact, we have taken the local out of voting and made it a big business for a select few companies that control our voting software, technology, and voting machines. The federal government allocated $3 billion dollars to fund the purchase of new technology to overhaul the voting infrastructure in 2002 and that opened the threshold for investors to enter our elections. It should also be noted that the switch to computerized voting came after 9/11 and the Patriot Act, which reshaped our country in ways that we are only now beginning to understand.
It’s the same script for all the things that affect our lives in the United States today. The safest election ever! Safe and effective! Vigorously studied! Our elections are secure! None of it is true. The sad reality is that we are being lied to. Governor Lamont shrugs his shoulders when asked about ballot stuffing caught on video in Bridgeport this fall. The media in Connecticut shrugs with him. No biggie, we caught it. We know our state government in Connecticut pays the media, that has been well documented.
Our federal government has used propaganda on other countries for decades. The excuse is to make the US look good in times of war or peace. If we’re honest with ourselves, the government has more than likely been using propaganda on us, just more covertly. The Smith-Mundt Act was ideally created to stop the government from using propaganda on its own citizens in 1948. However, it was never explicitly prohibited either. The Smith Mundt Modernization Act passed in 2013 made it even more clear that the government can use propaganda on the American public. Of course the government says the Smith Mundt Modernization Act creates transparency and allows Americans to see the government’s educational material i.e propaganda it produces for other countries.
The reality is our government can produce programing meant for Americans anonymously, air it on broadcast networks and the public will not know the government produced and funded the programing. Now we have the “new-news” January 6th was an insurrection, George Floyd was murdered, vaccines are safe and effective, our election is the safest ever! Misinformation, disinformation, Fact Checkers, Media Matters, and the DNC are all part of the spin machine. Anything [or anyone] that counters the narrative is an ad hominem attack, conspiracy theorist, Trumper, right-winger, racists, bigots. This language freely comes from the lips of elected officials. It is very alarming.
If you post on social media about the election of 2020 and question its validity, you could be censored and possibly suspended from social media altogether. You may even get a visit from the FBI. People have lost their jobs for speaking publicly about the election of 2020. A Connecticut mother and her adult daughter were seen on social media at the Capitol on January 6th. They were reported by a friend on FB to the FBI. Both women were charged and sentenced, for being at the Capitol carrying signs and taking pictures. Is this the United States or a Banana Republic? With billions of dollars to secure our election, make them safer, and more efficient, the government has failed. We are no better than a third world dictatorship. It is the same story over and over again, problem, reaction, solution.
To get answers, let’s follow the money. Who is behind the election infrastructure besides the government? Two companies, Premier Election Solutions, aka Election Systems & Software, and Dominion aka Diebold, which is the same thing essentially, dominate the “market”. Diebold acquired Global Election Systems, a Canadian based company, the same year that HAVA was passed in 2002. Dominion also a Canadian based company, bought Premiere Election Solutions in 2010. The companies are parasites and own each other. They change names and acquire their competitors. It’s a tactic that works well for their bottom line, profit and control.
Election Systems and Software INC and Dominion had antitrust suits filed against them, it did little to stop them from being the top vendors for elections system software and voting machines. They all try to maintain a separate profile, but the reality is they all own each other!

The monopoly aspect of this is concerning, but what is really concerning is that elections have become a business in the first place! All the companies I listed, Diebold, Premier Election Solutions, Dominion, have shady records involving, fraud, antitrust, bribery, and falsifying documents. How on earth can we trust them to provide us with free and fair elections? What is even worse, if things couldn’t get any worse. Election Systems & Software INC is owned by McCarthy Capital, a private equity firm. Staple Street Capital owns Dominion, another private equity firm. What is a private equity firm you ask? In a nutshell it is unregulated dark money with a web of private investors all tangled up with each other. Private equity firms own and manage the infrastructure of our elections in the United States.
Let. That. Sink. In!
Private equity money is driving our elections, our politicians, our laws. It is the purse strings that hold this country like a hostage. We see the power of private equity first hand here in Connecticut. Governor Lamont is a descendent of Thomas Lamont, an investment banker and executive with JP Morgan. Annie Huntress Lamont owns Oak HC/FT, a venture capital firm that has made billions while Ned Lamont has been governor. In fact, Ned Lamont has made $54 million while governor just last year! Venture capital thrives on private equity. Venture capital also enjoys the same freedom of no regulation that private equity does. There is no FOIA here, no right of the public to see who is funding what. Money can be hidden in the Cayman Islands it’s no big deal after all. It’s just the way business is conducted in the lost Constitution State.
