Get ready for another "Summer of Love" and double-speak after "mostly very peaceful protests" erupted against ICE, then California highway patrol and Los Angeles police.
Indivisible bragged that "peaceful protests" wasn't just their phrasing (or the mainstream media's phrasing), but it was also the sentiment of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Heck, CNN "journalist" Dana Bash didn't seem to think what was happening in Los Angeles was even a “real riot.”
Trump, however, disagreed about the agitators.
He sent in the National Guard, and now 500 Marines are prepared to deploy.
He said, "these are not protesters, they are troublemakers and insurrectionists" and later added that they were "paid insurrectionists."

Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy blamed Trump for the increasing violence, saying, "what you need to know about this crisis in California is that it is of Donald Trump's making."
Murphy further argued that, "Trump is getting involved to intentionally make the situation more violent. And potentially to create a pretext for some sort of martial law."
Here’s what you need to know about what’s going on in Los Angeles.

The state and city have the means to control the protests. Donald Trump is getting involved to intentionally make the situation more violent. And potentially to create a pretext for some sort of martial law. pic.twitter.com/jMgPYhKDTa
Coincidentally, just a few days ago Murphy said he would start to "fund citizen led protest groups all over the country" through his new PAC.
Murphy said the PAC has pledged to give $400k to "youth groups" and others, with a goal of spending over $2 million on anti-Trump protests and mobilization efforts.
Instead of hoarding money for the next election, Murphy wants his PAC to spend that money "right now" to take it to the streets to fight Trump, and he wants more of his colleagues to follow his lead.
I talked with @jrpsaki last night about my new project, American Mobilization. I'm raising money not for 2026, but to fund citizen led protest groups all over the country. We need our leaders to focus on the fight to save our democracy - right now. https://t.co/IVryWmn8Z6 pic.twitter.com/ZlZqvaq9Mv

Murphy mentioned the new mobilization effort at his "Walk Across Connecticut" Celebration in Norwalk on May 31st, too.
He said his PAC would help "protect" municipal races all across the country by preventing "extremism" from Trump supporters from "seeping" into town boards and councils.
He also told the audience that in order to save democracy, "you kinda have to put all your chips on the table" and that "you have to use more risk-tolerant tactics."
Murphy didn't clarify exactly what he meant by "risk tolerant tactics" at the time, leaving reasonable people to wonder if he considers the LA rioters' and insurrectionists’ tactics to be "risk tolerant."
Murphy then coordinated with Indivisible groups in Connecticut to get behind the next big nationwide protest, branded as "No Kings Day," on June 14th.
The protest is in an attempt to detract from the 250th Anniversary of the U.S. Army Grand Military Parade in Washington, D.C., Flag Day, and from Trump's birthday, which is also June 14th.
Like all of the other "branded" protests of the season (e.g., Tesla Takedown, 50501, Hands Off, May Day), "No Kings" comes with a full toolkit of information for organizers, including help with messaging, posters, security, media attention, insurance and so forth.
Indivisible even thought up a whole book of poems, songs and chants for the big day to make it simple for their aging protesters -- they literally don't have to think about a single thing, just follow the instructions and they're good to go.
Murphy then recorded a video for Connecticut Indivisible groups to "customize" and share in their individual channels to drive turnout for the June 14th "day of defiance."
He described "No Kings" as a really important event for Connecticut.
"History tells us that when the people mobilize, you have the power to save a democracy, to topple an autocracy, and so this is an opportunity for us to show that we are fed up with the corruption, the unconstitutional behavior, the illegality, the immorality of the Trump Administration," said Murphy before he directed folks to Invisible's website.
It's worth mentioning that both Chris Murphy and Indivisible use the democrats' favorite money laundering operation, Act Blue, to manage fundraising.
The first $5,000 of each contribution to Murphy's Mobilization Fund goes to the American Mobilization PAC, which raised almost $600k and disbursed $37k so far in 2025, including $11.5k to Act Blue for credit card processing fees; $5.9k to Elias Law Group; $5k each to Corey Booker, John Osoff, and Ben Ray Lujan; and $4k for fundraising expenses.
Any remaining funds in excess of $5,000 per contribution for the Mobilization Fund get allocated to "Friends of Chris Murphy" which raised $3.8 million and disbursed $3.9 million so far in 2025, with about $3.4 million going to Aisle 518 Strategies for digital fundraising, and $0.3 million to Act Blue for credit card processing fees.
Meanwhile, late Sunday night Indivisible announced a protest outside Hartford ICE for Monday, June 9th, to be in solidarity with their America hating, flag burning comrades in Los Angeles.
The Summer of Love 2.0 has arrived.
